Every visit to your site passes through servers we run, so we count it there, rather than asking a visitor’s browser to report back to an analytics company. There is no Google Analytics on your site.

The numbers are close, not exact, and the page says so. People who share a connection and a browser can count as one visitor, and a visitor whose browser blocks our script is not counted.

Two AI numbers sit on this page and we never add them together. A visit sent by an AI assistant is a person who clicked a link in an answer, which is evidence you were recommended. An AI assistant reading your site is a crawler fetching pages, which is not, and the page says so in those words.
Crawlers are recognised by name, GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and the rest, each with why it reads and how often. Google’s AI reads through Google’s ordinary crawler and cannot be told apart from it, so a click from an AI Overview counts as a Google search.
Bots and data center traffic are filtered out before anything is counted. Your own visits are left out when you browse from the connection and browser you use for your dashboard. No visitor is identified: we keep no IP address, and the key that tells one visit from the next is destroyed after 90 days.

Do you put Google Analytics on my site?
No. We count visits on the servers that deliver your site. There is no Google Analytics, no cookie and no third-party script for this.

Every tool counts differently. We count people rather than requests: bots and data center traffic are filtered out, and people who share a connection and a browser can count as one. The numbers are close, not exact.
Does my own browsing inflate the numbers?
Not from the connection and browser you use for your dashboard: visits from those in the last 30 days are left out. Browsing from somewhere else still counts.
Can I see which assistant sent a visitor?
Yes, when the assistant says so on the way in. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Claude are recognised by name. A click from Google’s AI Overviews arrives looking like a Google search and is counted as one.
Is this an extra charge?
